Apprenticeship

Orange Technical College offers a comprehensive Apprenticeship program designed to blend classroom learning with practical, on-the-job experience, providing students with the skills necessary for lifelong careers in various trades. This program allows apprentices to earn while they learn, receiving incremental pay increases and advancing their professional status with each year of completed training. Upon program completion, apprentices achieve Journeyman status, marking the pinnacle of their trade expertise. These programs are fee-exempt for apprentices at public institutions and involve a formal agreement with employers to ensure thorough occupational training. Unique to Orange Technical College, apprenticeship candidates are selected by employers based on predefined criteria that align with the standards set by the U.S. Department of Labor and the Florida Department of Education. Certification through these programs is nationally recognized, and graduates are esteemed industry journeymen.
