Since 2008, Friends of Children and Families (FOCF) has dedicated itself to providing exceptional group home care for children in Central Florida who have been displaced due to abuse or neglect. With a commitment to transforming 'hurting into healing,' FOCF ensures a secure and nurturing environment for these children. The organization operates residential homes within community settings, where children receive educational support, engage in extracurricular activities, and learn essential life skills for future success, all within a safe space free from past abuses. Adhering to the Trauma Informed Model, FOCF focuses on the comprehensive impact of trauma, emphasizing principles such as safety, trustworthiness, collaboration, and empowerment to aid in the recovery and development of the youth. Eligibility for their services requires referral through designated authorities, targeting children aged 12 to 17 who are at risk and in need of structured residential care.
