We assist adults aged 60 or older and adults with disabilities aged 18 through 59 who are victims of abuse, neglect, and exploitation or who neglect themselves. Abuse includes any act by a caregiver or any other person who causes harm or serious risk of harm to a vulnerable adult.
Types of reportable abuse include physical, emotional, sexual, passive neglect, deprivation, confinement, and financial exploitation. Self-neglect is an adult's inability, due to physical or mental impairments, or both, or a diminished capacity, to perform essential self-care tasks that substantially threaten his or her own health.
